Attica Community Book Club

About the Club

The Attica Book Club is a group of individuals from the community who enjoy reading and discussing good literature.  The group is open to anyone who would like to join.  The Attica Book Club meets on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 PM at the library.  Our meeting and discussions take place in a casual atmosphere with hot water available for refreshments and usually last 60 to 90 minutes.  All books for the discussion are made available to our members at the circulation desk of the library.

Discussion Rules

Respect everyone's opinion and thoughts.
One person may not monopolize the discussion.
The leader may facilitate the discussion by using questions from the Reader's Guide.
Be prepared to share your thoughts and ask questions.

Selections

Book selections are made two months in advance to allow the library personnel time to get multiple copies of the book through the inter-library loan system.  Members of the group may choose titles from the suggested titles list or may select any book that everyone agrees is acceptable.  The suggested list of titles are award winning books such as Pulitzer Prize winners, The National Endowment for the Arts "The Big Read" list, and Reading Group Choices lists.  Our selections reflect a variety of literature including classics and recent works.
