The Oxford Project

Have you ever heard the saying, "fact is stranger than fiction?" It's true, that's why I love reading non-fiction books. I'm especially interested in reading about other people's lives. Recently one of my friends told me about a book called, "The Oxford Project*." It is about the town of Oxford, Iowa, population 700, and the people who live there. The same mayer has presided since 1974. "The Oxford Project*" is a living time capsule with a series of portaits taken in 1974 and again today of the people who live there. Truths, secrets, fantasies, flaws, and shared histories unite this unique community. It is an extraordinary true tale of an ordinary American town through two decades.

Recently I've also enjoyed the movie Avatar*, James Cameron's epic sci-fi adventure movie. This movie boasts mind-blowing special effects - you'll want to watch it over and over again (just like my son Kyle!)
