"Love My Library!" Afterschool Workshop

On Thursday, April 15th 58 students in grades K-6 helped the Seneca East Public Library celebrate National Library Week with our "Love My Library!" after school workshop. When kids first arrived we took a snapshot of them in front of the library with signs reading "We Love Our Library!" Then we split into three stations. Station one was a tour of the SEO Mobile Computer Lab. Students watched a short movie inside

the bus and made library-themed "cootie catchers." At station two we played bingo and then, with sidewalk chalk, decorated the front sidewalk  with drawings and sayings such as "I love the library!" The third station was arguably the favorite of the day! Kids helped make and devour five different smoothie varieties which were resurrected from last year's workshop by popular demand. Lastly we regrouped and awarded door prizes. Thanks to the donators and the volunteers that helped make this workshop not only possible but a fantastic way to finalize National Library Week!
