The Seneca East Public Library has the following job opportunity:

Fiscal Officer: part time, flexible position, approximately 20 hours per week. PERS benefits. No health benefits.

The position requires experience in accounting, preferably governmental fund accounting. Computer skills are also required. Must be Bondable. Also, experience with the Uniform Accounting Network is a plus.

The Fiscal Officer is responsible for all fiscal management including payroll and accounts payable. Complete job description follows.

Job Description: Clerk-Treasurer

Immediate Supervisor: Board of Trustees

Positions Supervised: None

Job Responsibilities: In consultation with the Library Director, plans, organizes and carries out the day-to-day financial activities at the library.

Qualifications: Experience in public finance administration with previous college or work experience in accounting, business or public administration or any equivalent combination of experience which provides required knowledge, skills and ability.

Salary: To be hired at the organizational meeting each year at a salary to be negotiated by the Board of Trustees and is hired from organizational meeting to organizational meeting.

Evaluation: Occurs at discretion of the Board of Trustees.

Work Week: Determines own hours.

Essential Functions:

Administrative/Supervisory Duties:
     Receives and deposits in authorized accounts all library funds.
     Pays out monies as directed by the Board of Trustees.
     Keep financial records of funds in accordance with Chapter 117-4, Ohio Administrative Code, as required by the Auditor of State.
     Maintains all payroll and fringe benefits records in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
     Provides Board of Trustees and Director with monthly and annual financial reports. 
     Provides fiscal reports in a timely manner in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
     Attendance at all regular meetings of the Board of Trustees and special meetings as required.
     Follows all necessary procedures when dealing with special projects such as building programs, levy campaigns, grants, etc.
     Performs additional duties as assigned.
