Kid's Page

The Seneca East Public Library offers lots of fun and exciting activities and programs for children all year long. We believe that reading not only can be fun, but it should be fun!

Story Time

Throughout the year we offer preschool story time at the library as well as at the Seneca East School library. Story times last from 45 minutes to 1 hour and consist of songs, flannel graphs, good books, and a craft. They are open to almost 3 year olds through Kindergarten. No registration is needed and new kids are always welcome! See our Story Time page for current dates, times, and themes!

Afterschool Workshops

For students K-6 we offer several afterschool workshops throughout the school year. These programs could be described as "edu-tainment" because, even though we always strive to learn something new and exciting, we never forget to have FUN!

April 2009 - "We Love Our Library!"
December 2009 - "Gingerbread Family Night"
February 2010 - "Tooth Day Celebration"
April 2010 - "Love My Library!"

February 2011 - "Game Night @your library!"

Spring Puppet Show

Each Spring, as a special end-of-the-school-year treat, we host our annual preschool puppet show featuring Joyce Davis of Toledo. Ms. Davis is an international puppeteer and keynote speaker. She travels with her puppets across the USA as well as Europe, Peru, and more.

2010 - "Jack and the Sky Place"
2011 - "When I First Held You: A Lullaby From Israel"

Summer Reading Program

Just because school is out, doesn't mean the reading stops! Each summer we start our program with a family kickoff party! For preschoolers we offer a summer session of story time. Kids entering grades K-6 enjoy weekly programs. Students K-12 read for prize incentives! See our Summer Reading Program page for a complete list of the summer's events.
